I used the name Dieter ECKSTEIN in my Sociology A-level exam paper. Didn't know the names of real sociologists so used West Ham related names for the fake of it.
Also 'quoted' François L'Ampard and John Green. Dragged my A grade coursework down to a C, and I was delighted.
True story.

You are right about our lack of luck with Germans... Thomas HITZELSPERGER and Savio NSEREKO during "the Project years.
We also had a well-past-his-prime Dieter ECKSTEIN on trial in the mid 1990's too,
But beyond this.... nichts.

Long throws do not belong to Rory Delap.the best that I ever saw was a young striker at Chelsea named Hutchinson. A long throw tactic is just that "a tactic" its not a style that is a clubs sole form of attack.
Great clubs have a variety of skills and styles .that's what make them great.

Hugh,
I was dreading that mate - like Rory Delap you mean?
I was hoping he had some fancy feint or swerve technique, not another long ball option.
We're West Ham Hugh.

Has missed about 50% of Leverkusen's games in the last 2 years through injury probably why they haven't a deal already on the table for him.

He can launch a football a fair distance when taking throw ins. Its probably relating to a technique that he picked up in training as a youngster

That was mildly amusing, terry-h. Especially the bit where you left out the space before my name and the comma after it.
